The eight-petal lotus flower (representing the Eightfold Path) is a distinctive highlight in the architecture of Legacy Yen Tu that can be seen everywhere, was finely crafted from a bronze village in Dai Bai, Bac Ninh – a renowned craftsmanship village with a history spanning nearly a thousand years. The material, bronze, is also a characteristic closely associated with Vietnamese for years.
The lotus flower represents purity, a spirit of brightness. With this significance, Buddhism has used the image of the eight-petal lotus flower to represent the Eightfold Path – the methods of meditation and practice aimed at leading people toward a life of peace and happiness. Additionally, the lotus flower at Legacy Yen Tu is meticulously designed with three layers (Body – Speech – Mind), symbolizing the Ten Virtues – 10 good deeds that King Tran Nhan Tong encouraged people to embrace, embodying the values of Truth – Goodness – Beauty.
