The Legacy Yên Tử – MGallery Wellness Complex is a unique architectural ensemble designed in the Zen style, featuring architecture, patterns, and layout inspired by the Trần Dynasty’s imperial style. The magnificent horizontal and vertical buildings blend tradition and modernity, comfort and aesthetics, simplicity and luxury.
Legacy Yên Tử was designed by the world-renowned architect Bill Bensley. This place combines the tranquility of ancient times with the splendor of a Trần-era palace, harmoniously integrated within the Trúc Lam Cultural Center, offering a one-of-a-kind experience in Vietnam. Inspired by the Huệ Quang Kim Tháp from the 13th century Trần period on Yên Tử Mountain, Legacy Yên Tử incorporates intricate Vietnamese cultural architectural elements with natural materials such as copper, stone, ceramics, and wood, guiding visitors on an enchanting journey back over 700 years into Vietnam’s past.
Accommodation System
The rooms are decorated in the style of the Trần royal palaces, using natural materials to create a harmonious and friendly atmosphere that offers relaxation and comfort. It gives a sense of familiarity while maintaining the sophistication of the luxurious MGallery 5-star brand.
Each room features a private balcony overlooking the majestic Yên Tử mountain landscape or the open space of Minh Tâm Square. Unique materials such as jute sacks, straw walls, old-style wooden doors, and floors made from locally crafted ceramics (some of which were nearly lost but have been revived) add to the authenticity and charm of the space. The rooms and auxiliary structures are adorned with traditional materials like wood, stone, and copper, all human-friendly. The wooden elements in the room, from the ceiling, walls, doors, wardrobes, beds, to other furniture, are rustic yet refined, as if freshly cut from raw timber, though upon closer inspection, one can see that they have been meticulously crafted with great care and elegance. The thick, raw wooden doors give a sense of security to guests, and they are opened and closed by a rope pulley system that was once commonly used, requiring manual effort to pull the rope and move the door. The room walls are lined with handwoven jute fabric, enhancing warmth and friendliness. Above, near the ceiling, ceramic wine vessels are placed on large wooden beams, while large pillows hang from the walls and drape over the warm bedding. Copper holders for writing brushes and lanterns also decorate the space. The walls of the auxiliary structures are lined with textured copper sheets, adding a sense of aging with time. The stone basins and bowls are finely crafted, offering a friendly and welcoming feel. Embroidered rugs depicting the Tiger God, believed in Eastern culture to ward off nightmares and bring peaceful sleep, are also featured.
Upon entering the room, it feels as if one has stepped back in time, almost a thousand years. When staying in the room, guests experience moments of living like royalty from the Trần era, with a deep sense of both poetic beauty and Zen spirituality. Visitors will be able to fully relax, restore their health, release their worries, and achieve a peaceful and serene mind and body, leaving them with an unforgettable impression. Such a space is rare to find anywhere else in the country!
